Virgil A. Rives was a soldier in the Civil War in Virginia 3rd Cavalry Reg., Co. I. According to notes on FindaGrave, his body was disinterment from the Rives Family Cemetery, Dinwiddie County during the 1941-42 expansion of Fort Pickett and placed in the Butterwood Cemetery, Darvills, Dinwiddie County, Virginia with a CSA marker. Bettie P. Rives applied for a pension for her husband Virgil Alfonso Rives (full name given) in 1924.
