The following memorial inscription is recorded from Finglas Parish Old Churchyard:

UNDERNEATH THIS STONE LIETH INTERRED THE BODIES OF GEORGE RYVES, LATE DOCTOR OF LAWS, JUDGE OF THE PRAEROGATIVE COURT AND ONE OF THE MASTERS OF THE CANCERY IN ORDINARY, AND [ONE?] OF THE SONNES OF SIR WILLIAM RYVES KNIGHT, WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE THE 27th DAY OF MARCH 1647, AND OF MARY & DOROTHY TWO OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE SAID GEORGE AND ANNE HIS WIFE, ONE OF THE DAUGHTERS OF SIR EDWARD BAGSHAWE OF FINCLAS KNIGHT, WHICH SAID MARY & DOROTHY DIED IN JANUARY NEXT FOLLOWING
