Wiki Stats - End August 2010

August has been a busy month in the Tiki, both in the number of pages and also with other significant changes.

The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 Sept 2010) is 1355, an increase of approximately 50% in the month from 893 at the start of the month.     Of these 508 pages (up from 404) begin with the letter R so are probably related to a R*v*s individual and 179 pages (was 126) begin with a number so are probably a date related gleaning.

Aside from the new Wiki Home Page, there have also been a number of other changes, which I hope have improved the usability of the Tiki.     Of these the sub-dividing of the Y10-Gleanings structure is perhaps most significant. The nine active US States now have their individual structures, significantly improving performance and usability.   Also Hampshire (where my own interest lie) has been similarly updated and a token amount of data for five other English Counties has been added.
If you need to add a new US State or UK County, there is a new FAQ describing how to. Although the FAQ is somewhat long-winded, its not a difficult process.

September 2010

New Members

We're already in the process of welcoming Pam Boan and Tommie Smith. My thanks to Bev for agreeing to lead Mentor Team A to help ease the way for our new members.
I originally suggest up to half a dozen new users for this next phase, so we still need one or two more names proposed to receive individual invitations this month. Please contact me directly with nominations.

DNA Groups

From an Admin perspective, I'm going to turn my attention to the DNA Groups this month. I suspect they will benefit from similar treatment to the US States & UK Counties; retaining an umbrella structure whilst at the same time giving each group it own structure, Home Page & "talk_" page for discussions. Based on the experience with States, it will be a transparent change, but if you are planning any significant additions to a DNA Group this month, please drop me an e-mail first so we can coordinate our work.

The Month Ahead

As a regular user, I plan on adding a few more English counties and adding to the information for my own line. What are your plans for September with the Tiki? If you've yet to create your "AboutMe_" page, how about doing it this month?
