Wiki Stats - End August 2012

The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 September 2012) now stands at 4665 4765 (previously 4747, 4624, 4434), an increase of 18 pages during the past month. Of these 882 pages (was 880, 844, 794) begin with number and are most probably a date related gleaning. We currently have 1339 wiki pages categorised as "People", of which 1012 begin with the letter "R".


The nett increase of 18 pages during the past month does not fully reflect the activity during what is often a quiet summer month. A number of pages created during our early days of experimentation, which no longer added any value, were deleted during the month. So the actual number of new pages added is closer to 30 pages, which is still pretty modest.

Did you realise that if every user added just TWO new pages this month, we'd add more than our long term average of 120 new pages per month? And if YOU (and everybody else) added four new pages, The Reeves Project would have more than 5000 wiki pages by the end of September!

TRP Users

We currently have 88 user accounts on TRP, including 5 new members who successfully activated their accounts in August. We welcome Pierson, Clifford, Steve, Edie & Pat and look forward to their contributions to The Reeves Project wiki.

Wikipedia Citing TRP

One of the administrative tasks I routinely undertake is to check on who on the World Wide Web is linking to TRP pages. This month I noticed an inbound link from Wikipedia. I dug a little deeper and it seems Wikipedia has started citing a page within The Reeves Project as the source of information on one of its pages. Its good to know that others appreciate the work we're doing and congratulations to Beverly since it one the many pages she's contributed that's being cited.
