Happy New Year

As I start to type this page in the early evening of New Years Eve here in the UK, we have one community member for whom its already New Years Day. During the past month we welcomed our first Australian community member and in doing so we've taken another small step to making the statement in our mast head "A global genealogical collaboration" a reality.

Between us, over the past twelve months, we've added 499 new pages to TRP. And our community, as measured by the number of activated accounts, has grown by 50 to close the year at 152 members.

I know some of our primary contributors have become side tracked during 2013 with disentangling their DNA results. As we look forward to 2014, it would be really nice to see a few more of our newer members contributing pages for their Reeves ancestors. Creating pages is different, not difficult and we're always ready to offer support and help.

Wiki Stats - End December 2013

The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 January 2014) now stands at 5623 (previously 5610, 5609, 5577), a modest increase of thirteen pages during the past month. Of these 1159 pages (was 1159, 1159, 1153) begin with number and are most probably a date related gleaning. We currently have 2249 wiki pages categorised as "People", of which 1836 begin with the letter "R".

TRP Users

We ended December with 152 user accounts on TRP, with FIVE new members successfully activating their accounts during the month. We welcome Laurie, Judy, Bob, Maude and Phillip. It pleasing to see that Judy has already entered a page for the Sarah Reeves she's found in the upper branches of her family tree and Bob has made a start with his About Me page. We look forward to their further contributions and encourage those who've yet to make a start to make it one of their 2014 New Years Resolutions.  Just one new page a month from each and every one of us (yes, you included) would make a huge difference to The Reeves Project.
