Mentor Team Talk Pages - TRP First Steps Part 3 Updated

Some features of The Reeves Project have remained pretty static since we first conceived them and others have evolved over time, often to try and improve usability.

Our Mentor Team Talk Pages are a case in point. Initially we intended that new members would add their first contribution to the end of the page. The guidance in Part 3 of our First Steps series accurately described that scenario.

But as the pages grew in length, that became challenging for some. All that unnecessary scrolling at a time when one wasn't familiar with the product wasn't a clever idea. So we adapted and evolved.

• Firstly, we moved some of the older posts off to separate (but linked) archive pages.
• Secondly, we moved the point where new contributions were expected from the bottom of the mentor Team Talk page to very close to the top.
• Thirdly, we significantly changed the wording of insertion point guidance line.
• Fourthly, we moved from new contributions being added above the guidance line to now going below it.

The Mentor Team Talk pages have evolved over time and unfortunately I hadn't realised how much they'd diverged from the guidance in TRP First Steps Part 3. If you are a relatively new community member and had got lost trying to follow those instructions, my humble apologies.

TRP First Steps Part 3 was updated earlier today (26 April 2014). Please give it another read. Hopefully it now more closely matches the current reality and will now make more sense.
