Wiki Stats - End July 2016

The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 August 2016) now stands at 6732 (previously 6712, 6695, 6646) and increase of 20 pages during the month.     Of these 1319 pages (was 1316, 1313, 1288) begin with a number and are most probably a date related gleaning.     We currently have 2788 wiki pages categorised as "People", of which 2363 begin with the letter "R".

TRP Users

We ended June July with 253 user accounts registered in TRP, with three new members activating their accounts during the month. We welcome Christopher, Crystal and Lenora and look forward to seeing their contributions to our wiki.

Reeves DNA Project Update

The Reeves DNA Project hosted at Family Tree DNA presently (27 July) has 237 members; of these 171 have taken a Y-DNA test, 53 a mtDNA test and 63 an atDNA (Family Finder) test with some people having taken multiple tests. We’ll look a little closer at these numbers in the coming months.

During the past month, we had new test results for three members, George Reeves (Y-DNA37), Sherrie Beaman (Family Finder) and Clay Reeves (mtDNA).

With effect from 23 July 2016, Barry has enabled the “Join Request” feature for the Reeves DNA Project at Family Tree DNA. This provides an opportunity for us to solicit information about the most distant known ancestor of new applicants. Please restrict yourself to the earliest Reeves ancestor that you have personally researched and documented. Bev explains why this is so important in her 10 July post on the Activity Feed. If you have a genuine interest in Reeves genealogy, please don’t let this new step deter you from joining our Reeves DNA Project.
