Quebec, Province of Canada


History

The modern Province of Quebec was created on 1 July 1867 when the Dominion of Canada was established. It was formed from the division of the Province of Canada into Ontario and Quebec.

Modern Day Adjacent Provinces & Territories

Quebec is bordered to the north by Hudson Strait and Ungava Bay, to the east by the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick. It is bordered on the south by the U.S. states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York. To the west it is bordered by the Province of Ontario, James Bay and Hudson Bay.
