DNA Group #03 Analysis and Personal Assessment
By Richard Allen Reeves (Line 34977)
Introduction
DNA testing is a fantastic tool for establishing relationships among those with a common surname. It also may be used to focus research on likely common ancestors. Below is a brief overview of DNA Group #03 test results followed by an assessment of my own test. My goal was to determine from among the Group #03 testers those that were most closely related to me and who might be our common ancestor.Table of contents
Group #03 Overview
Group 3 is currently composed of 23 testers. Twenty-two of the 23 are exact matches at the 12-marker level. The one tester who varies does so by a genetic distance of only 1.At the 25-marker level three testers drop out of this analysis because only 12 markers are reported for them. Of the remaining people, thirteen are exact matches.

My Results (Test #34977)
The results of my test show the strongest relationship with Tommie Smith (Stephen Gregory Reeves). Overall, my results are as follows:- 12-Marker
Perfect match with 22 of those in Group 3 (all but one person). - 25-Marker
A close match with 13 fellow testers, but my test deviates by a genetic distance of 1 at Marker 18 (DYS447). - 37-Marker
The field diminishes substantially at this level. I show a close match (genetic distance of 1) with the following two testers:- Lynn G. Reeves
- Stephen Gregory Reeves
- 67-Marker
At this level I have only one close match, Tommie Smith (through Stephen Gregory Reeves), again with a genetic distance of one.
