Transcript

In the Name of God Amen the five and twentieth Day of September Anno Dm One Thousand sixe hundred thirtie & three And in ye nynth yeare of the raigne of or most Gracious Sovraigne Lord Charles by the grace of god of England Scottland France and Ireland kinge defendr of the faith &c I Johan Reeve of Upmynster in the Countie of Essex Widdoe beinge of good & pfecte memorie thankes be given unto allmightie god doe make & ordeine this my last will & testamente in manner & forme followinge
Firste I render my soule into the hands of allmightie god my maker and Jesus Christ my redeemer through whose merritts & mercyes I assuredlie trust to be saved my bodie to be buried in Upmynster Church yard Att the discresion of my Executor hereunder named And as concerninge such worldlie estate as god in mcy hath blessed mee wthall I doe dispose thereof in manner & forme followinge
Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my cozen William Freeman sonne of my cozin John Freeman the some of twenty pounds of lawfull money of England to be payd unto him att his full age of one and twenty yeares by my executor hereunder named
Item I give and bequeath unto his sister (blank) Freeman the some of ten pounds to be payd unto her att her age of one & twenty yeares provided allways nevertheless and my will & meaninge is that if my said cozen John Freemans children or either of them or any for them or either of them of for their or either of their heirs shall att any tyme hereafter laye clayme and sue for my coppyhold lands or tenemts holden of the mannor of Gaynes Upminster aforesaid that then theis? my psente legacyes to them given shallbe utterlie voyd and of none effecte
Item I give and devise unto my cozen Richard Freeman all my copiehold lands and tenemts holden of the said mannor of Gaynes to him and to his heires forever.
All the rest of my goods cattells and chattells unbequeathed my detts payd and funerall chardges discharged I give and bequeath unto my lovinge kinsman Richard Freeman whom I make the sole executor of this my last will and testamente and I appoint my lovinge friends Mr Roger Taverner and Robert Heath to be Overseers of the same
In witness whereof I the said Johan Reeve to this my last will & Testamente in one sheete of paper revokinge all former wills have sett my hand & seale the Day & yeare first above written
