In the name of God Amen the one and thirtieth day of December one thousand six hundreth thirtie and seaven And in the thirteenth yeare of the Raigne of our most gracious Sovreigne Lord Charles of England Scotland France and Ireland Kinge defender of the faith &c I John Reeve of Hatfield Peverell in the Countie of Essex yeoman beinge sicke and weake in body but of good and pfect mynd and memorie thanks be unto Almightie god therefore doe make and ordeyne this my last will and Testament in writinge in manner and forme followinge vizt First and principally I comend my soule into the handes of Almightie god my maker and to Jesus Christ my alone Saviour and Redeemer trusting and assuredly beleevinge that through the merritts and bloodsheding of Jesus Christ my onely Saviour and Redeemer to have free pdon and remission of all my sinns And my body to be buryed at the discrecon of my executrix heereafter named. Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my loveinge wife all that my customary tenement together wth all the appurtenances thereunto belonginge called by the name of Lovetye? or by any other name or names whatsoever situate lyinge and beinge in High Easter and Much Dunmowe and holdeth of the manner of high Easter Bury by Coppie of Court Role and also all the freehold lands lyinge and beinge in the aforesaid pishes of High Easter and Much Dunmowe or any one of them unto her the said Elizabeth my wife untill such tyme as John my sonne shall attaine and come unto his full age of one and twenty years she the said Elizabeth doeinge noe ? unto the said tenement and lands. Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne John and has heires for ever the aforesaid tenement and landes formerlie given and bequeathed to Elizabeth my wife when he the said John Reeve my sonne shall attaine and come unto his full age of one and twentie yeares and if it shall fortune that Elizabeth my wife shall happen to marry before my sonne John shall accomplish his age aforesaid that then my will and mind is that shee the said Elizabeth my wife shall paie or cause to be paid unto Thomas Beadle my brother in lawe the some of three pounds yearely and evrie yeare out of the tenement and lands formerly given unto her in this my last will and testament duringe the minoritie of my sonne John as aforesaid the wch three poundes a yeare my will and meaninge is shalbe paid by my brother in law Thomas Beadle unto my sonne Thomas Reeve when he the said Thomas shall attaine and come unto his full age of one and twentie years. Item I further give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my wife all that my tenement and lands wth the appurtenances called Chamters and Gromes situate lyinge and being in Terlinge unto her the said Elizabeth my wife untill Thomas Reeve my sonne shall attaine and come unto his full age of fourteene years. And then I give the aforesaid tenement and landes wth ther appurtenances thereunto belonginge called Chamters and Gromes situate lyine and being in Terling aforesaid unto Thomas Reeve my second sonne and his heires for ever to him the said Thomas my sonne at such tyme as he the said Thomas shall accomplish hus full age of fourteene years. Item I give and bequeath unto Samuel Reeve my sonne and unto Mathewe Reeve my sonne to eyther of fiftie poundes apeece to be paid by my executrix into the handes of Matthew Reeve my brother and my loving friend Mr. Samuel Beadle of Mauldon to the use and benefitt of my aforenamed two sonnes Samuel Reeve and Mathewe Reeve and my will and meaninge and desyre is that they the said Mathew Reeve and Samuel Beadle shall enter and become bound in bond obligation in the penall some of two hundred pounds wch condicon that they the said Mathew Reeve and Samuel Beadle shall paid or cause to be paid the aforesaid fiftie poundes unto my sonne Samuel and likewise fiftie poundes unto my sonne Matthew together wth use and benefitt wch shall arise after the rate of six poundes in the hundredth at such tyme and tymes as they the said Samuell and Mathew shall attaine and be of the full age of one and twentie yeares unto my Brother in law Thomas Beadle of Hatfield Pevell and if it shall fortune that eyther of my sonnes Samuell and Mathew to depte this life before they shall accomplish their ages of one and twentie yeares that then the porcon of him soe dyinge shalbe and remayne unto the survivor then liveinge. Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Reeve my daughter the some of fortie poundes to be paid to her by my executrix when shee shall attaine and be of the full age of sixteene yeares. And my will and meaninge is that Elizabeth my wife shalbe come bound in a bond penall of two hundreth poundes unto my brother Mathewe Reeve and Mr Samuel Beadle of Mauldon before she taketh upon her the execuso of this my will for ye condcion therein that shee the said Elizabeth shall pforme all thinges accordinge to the true intent and meaninge therein xppressed All the rest of my good cattells chattles moveables and unmoveables whatsoever unbequeathed I wholie give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my loveinge wife whome I doe nominate and ordaine executrix of this my last will and testament towardes the payment of my debtes and bringinge my body to the earth. And I doe appoynt Mathew Reeve my Brother and Mr. Samuel Beadle overseers of this my will. In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the daie and yeare above written.

Memorandum that the daie and yeare above written John Reeve one of the Customary tenants belonginge to the manner of High Easter Bury of Hatfield Hevell did surrender unto the hands of the Lord of the manner of High Easter Bury in the psence of William Serredge and Thomas Reeve two customarye tenements belonginge to the said manner by the handes of William Chiles in??? of the Bayly? all that his customary tenement wth the appurtenances thereunto belonginge called or knowne by the name of Love Tye situate lyinge and beinge in High Easter and much Dunmowe to the use and ? of this his last will and testament hereint written bearinge the daie of the Date hereof.
