In the name of God Amen the two and twentieth day of Januarie 1638 and in the fourteenth yeare of our Sovraigne Lord Charles by the grace of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland &c I Richard Reeve of southchurch in the countie of Essex yeoman being in sound and perfect remembrance but verie weake and sickly for divers considerations me hereunto moveing doe institute ordaine and make this my will conteyning therein my last Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)
Imprimis I surrender my soule into the hands of my redeemer Jesus Christ trusting to be saved by faith in him alone and my bodie to be buried in the churchyard of the parrish church of Southchurch aforesaid at the discresion of my executor hereafter mentioned
Item I give unto my father Edward Reeve of Loppn? in the Countie of Nourefolke the sum of fortie pounds of lawfull money of England if he be living, and if he be dead then the same fortie pounds I give unto the children of my sister Anne Warne the wife of Robert Warne to be equally divided amonge them
Item I give unto Thomas Warne the sonne of Robert Warne after the decease of my father and when yt shall come to be due unto me the sume of thirtie poundes to be payed yearly five pounds by the yeare by my brother Stephen Reeve of Larling? in Norffolk aforesayd
Item I give unto my said brother Stephen Reve the some of tenn shillings to be payed after my own decease if the same be demanded and to the children of my said Brother Stephen Reeve the some of fortie shillings a peece wthin one yeare after my decease
Item I give unto my brother Robert Warner? aforesaid to buy him a ring the some of fortie shillings and to my sister his wife the like some of fortie shillings for the like ofd
Item I give unto Mary the daughter of George Male the some of one hundred poundes to be payed within oe yeare after my decease
Item I give unto Willia? sonne of Mr Ricard Pulley? of Lee gent the some of one hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to be payed after my deease at the discresion of my executor
Item I give unto John Morris the sonne of Christopher Morris of Pritlwell deceased the some of five pounds of lawfull money of England be pd within one yeare after my deease
Item I give unto Gabriell Piere? Clarke of Leedes some of twentie shillings of lawfull money of England to be pd after my decease
Item I give unto the use of ye poore of the parish of Southchurch the some of five pounds to be payed wthin one yeare after my decease and to the ppore of the parish of Leedes? like some of five pounds to be payed as is aforesayd and the parrish of ?burry for the use of the poore the some of tenn shillings to be payed after my decease
Item unto my executor? William Mirgell? I give the some of twentie shillings to be payed wthin one yeare after my decease
Item I give unto my maidservant Anne Wood the some of tenn shillings to be payed as is aforesayd
Item I give unto my brother Stephen Reeve his eldest sonne I give the lease of southchurhh ? yf he will ? of all other my goods moevalbes and moveables whatsoever unbegotten hereby I give to be equally devided betweene the aforesaid Mr Richard Pulley ? I make & appoint my sole executor of this my will and testament and George Male Butcher of ? I alsoe appoint as overseer of this my said will nothing doubting but ? will be the same fulllfilled according to the intent thereof. In witness whereof I the sayd Richard Reeve hath hereunto sett my hand and seale the daye and yeare first aboe written the marke of Richard Reeve the marke of William Balman the mark of William Wattsonn
