The three and twentieth day of November one thousand six hundred fifty seaven. In the name of God Amen I Katherine Ryves of the Close of Sarum in the County of Wilts the daughter of George Ryves Esquire Deceased being sick in body but of good and perfect memory doe make this my last Will and Testament (revokeing all former wills by mee made) as followethFirst I comend my soule to God And my body I leave to be buried att Blandford Forum by my said father and by my other there buried And as concerning my temorall estate and worldly goods I doe thereof dispose as followeth
First I give and bequeath to my deare friend Mr John Ambrey of Chalke three hundred and fifty pounds of lawfull English money And to my loveing Aunt Ms Mary Miller one hundred pounds of like money and to my loveinge Aunt Ms Margaret Miller twenty pounds of like money
Alsoe I doe give and bequeath to my Loveing Aunte Mrs Ann Sadler and Ms Joane Sadler to each of them a peece of plate of five pounds (I give alsoe to my said Aunts Mrs Margarett Miller and Mrs Mary Miller to my uncle Mr Edward Miller to my cosens Ann & Joane the daughters of my Aunt Ann Sadler to my cozens Joane the daughter of my Aunt Joane Sadler to my loveing friend Ms Aubrey the foresaid Ms Awberys mother) & to my loveing cozen Ms Mary Sadler of Salisbury to every of them a mourning ring of the value of twenty shillings a peece as tokens and remembrances of my love unto them. I give to my goddaughter Katherine Ash tenn pounds and to my two maide servants Ann and Margery five pounds a peece and to each of them a mourninge Gowne besides their wages Moreover I give to the poore of the close and Citty of New Sarum six pounds thirteene shillings and foure pence And to the poore of Blandford Forum three pounds six shillings and eight pence to be bestowed upon such poore in every of the said places as in the judgment of my executor hereafter named shall have most neede thereof And soe I doe leave to him the free choyse of such poore in those places as shall have the same Bit I doe earnestly desire him to be well informed and to take care upon whome hee bestowes the same that the most needy be by him respected and pferred before others that are not in such want.
Lastly I doe give to my loveing Brother Mr John Ryves my mothers wedding Ring and a peice of Gold of thirty shillings Alsoe I doe give and bequeath to my said Brother the portion of legacy of two thousand pounds given unto mee by my father in his will hee first paying out of the same the legacies aforesaid by mee herein given & bequeathed and discharging my funeralls. And him my said Brother I doe make and constitute sole executor of this my last will and testament. But my apparell and all the rest of my goods whatsoever saveing my said portion or legacy of two thousand pounds and the ring and peece of gold before mentioned I doe give to my loveing Aunt Ms Mary Miller. And my will is that all my legacies be paid within two moneths after my decease.
