In the Name of God Amen the eleventh day of November Anno Dm 1680 And in the two and thirtieth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the Grace of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland Defender of the Faith &c I John Reeve of Althornebarnes in the parish of Althorne in the County of Essex yeoman being in good health of Body and of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks bee therefore given to Almighty God yett calling to mind the certeinty of death and the uncerteinty of the time thereof And being minded? and serious? to settle and dispose of such estate as God of his infinite goodness hath bestowed upon me in this life Doe make and declare this my last will and Testament Wherein first and principally I commend my soule into the hands of Almighty God my creator assuredly trusting and beleiveing by and through the merritts death and passion of my onely saviour and Redeemr Jesus Christ to obteine free pardon and remission of all my sinns and to see the Lord in the land of the ever liveing to the comfort and salvacion of my soull my body I committ to the Earth to bee decently buryed att the discretion of my executors hereafter named And as touching my temporall estate I give and dispose of the same in manner and forme following (that is to say) Impris I give and bequeath unto my Loveing wife Mary the sume of threescore pounds of lawfull money of England which by bond I am oblidged to give and leave her and that the same is and shalbee in full discharge of the same obligation. Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Thomas Reeve the sume of tenn pounds of like lawfull money of England to bee paid to him when hee shall attaine and come to the age of one and twenty yeares All the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattells plates householdstuffe ready moey and personall estate whatsoever not herein before by me given or bequeathed (my debts funerall charges and legacies being the thereout first paid and deducted I give and bequeath unto my sonnes John and William Reeve And I doe make and ordaine my said sonnes John and William Reeve Joynt executors of this my last will and Testament and I doe hereby revoake and make void all former and other Wills by me att any time or times heretofore made and doe make and ordeine this my last will and Testament In witnes whereof I the said John Reeve have to this my last will and Testament sett my hand seale the day and yeare above written.
