Transcript

To all Christian people to whome those presents shall come Edward Reeves of Rumley Creek in Baltimore County in the province of Maryland planter send Greeting In our Lord God Everlasting Know yee that I the said Edward Reeves as well for and in consideration of the love and Affection which I have and do beare unto Elizabeth Sergant the wife of John Sergant of the same County and province aforesaid as also for other good causes and consideration me at this present especially moving Have Given and Graanted by these presents do give grant and confirme unto the said Elizabeth Sargant a certaine parcell of Land fitt and commodious to a make a sufficient planatation our of a track a parcell of Land called or Known by the Name of Clements Dean Situate lying on Bush River in Baltimore County To have and to hold the said Land and plantation with all the appurtenances as woods underwoods trees and Tiber trees such as shall be ? and convenient for the use of the said plantation makeing no wast as also good and sifficient Range for cattle or hoggs without any monner of ? or confiment During the Life of the said Elizabeth from me & my heirs Exrs Admrs or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever pretending any claime Right Title or Interest therein or thereunto furthermore I the said Edward Reeves do by these presents Ratifie and confirm the beforementioned premises unto the said Elizabeth and John her husband now in being peaceably and quietly to occupy possess and Enjoy During her life and no longer Giving and Granting unto the said John Sergant after her Decease if he shall be the Longer surviver considerable time and free leave to carry of what stock or interest he through his industry labour and care shall make or raise thereoon Giveing them full power Free Leave and consent to go and cleare build plant and possess the said Land from the day of the date of these presents till the Decease of the said Elizabeth Sergant In confirmation of which I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seale as a Reall Deed of Gift to her the said Elizabeth this 3d Day of February Anno Dom 1684/5 And in the tenth year of his Lordships Dominion
