Transcript

This Indenture made the third day of November in the year of our Lord God Everlasting One Thousand Six hundred Eighty five and the tenth year of the Dominion of the right Honble Charles Between Edward Reeves of Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland planter of the one part And George Conningam of the same County and Province of the other part Witnesseth that the said Edward Reeves for a Valluable Consideration already in hand received paid by the said George Conningam before the sealing and Delivery of these presents whereof wherewith the said Edward Reeves doth acknowledge himself fully satisfied and paid and doth of and for every part and parcell thereof Acquitt & Discharge the said George Conningam his heirs Exrs Admrs and Assigns Have Granted bargained sold Aliened Assigned & set over & confirmed & by these presents doth fully clearly and absolutely Give Grant bargaine sell alien enfeoff and conffirme transfer unto the said George Conningam his heirs & assigns forever all that tract or parcell of land called Hog Neck in Rumley Creek Begining at a bounded locus & standing upon the head of a branch of the said Creek and Running thence South and by East thirty porches to a bounded white oake standing in a swamp then Runing East and by North two hundred and Eighty porches to the acoresaid Creek then Runing up the Creek North and by west thirty porches lastly runing Directly to the first Bounded tree still bounding on the said Creek containing & now laid out for fifty acres of land more or less And also all woods underwoods & trees now standing Growing or being upon the same premises or any part or parcell thereof to the said George Conningam his heirs & assigns forever. Together with all the right title interest claime and Demand whatsoever of him the said Edward Reeves of in and to the same and of in and to eery part and parcell thereof to the said George Conningam And to the only use and behoofe of him and his heirs and assigns forever. To have & to hold the said fifty acres of land and all and singular the premises mentioned or intended to be granted with all and singular the appurtenances & the said Edward Reeves doth for his heirs Exrs & Admrs hereby covenant & Grant to & with the said George Cunningam his heirs Exrs & Admrse & Assigns & every of them by these presents In manner and form following That is to say that the said Edward Reeves for and Notwithstanding any act or thing by him or by his meanes prvity consent or pattern? hath made committed or Done or wittingly or willingly suffered to the contrary heretofore now or at the sealing & Delivery of these presents doth stand and is lawfully seized of and in the said premises and hath good right full power & lawfull authority To grant and convey the said bargained premises and every part & parcel thereof without the lott and disturbance of the said Edward Reeves or any of them or by any other person or persons whatsoever and that free and clear and freely & clearly acquitted otherwise said harmless & kept indemnified of and from all manner of former and other bargained sales Grants conveyances joyntures and all other charges and incumbrances whatsoever of the said Edward Reeves committed or same by any other person or persons whatsoever and that the said Edward Reeves shall and will from time to time and at all times during the space of seaven years at the personall request of the said George Conningam his heirs and assigns and at his proper cost and charges do make and execute or cause or procure to be done or executed all and every such further and other act & assurance in the same whatsoever for the better assuring of the aforementioned premises as by the ? ? in the land of the said George Conningam shall be reasonably advised devided or otherwise required and that the said George Conningam his heirs & assigns & every of them shall and may at all times and from time to time and at all times peaceable and quietly have hold use and enjoy all singular the said Granted premises with the appurtenances according to the true intent and meaning thereof it is mutually agreed upon by these presents by both parties that all further assurances To be made as aforesaid of the beforementioned premises shall be adjudged & Declared to be to the only proper use of the said George Conningam his heirs & assigns forever and that the said Edward Reeves from him his heirs to the said George Conningam and his heirs and assigns the above bargained premises with the appurtenances shall & will warrant and forever defend by these presents from any person or persons having or claiming Right thereunto In witness whereof the parties above named hath hereunto set his hand and seale the 3d day of November Anno Dom 1685

Memorandum in open court at a court held for Baltimore County November the 3d Anno Dom 1685 came Edward Reeves acknowledged the within mentioned conveyance as his act and deed unto George Conningam
