In the Name of God Amen I Mary Ryves of Ranston in the County of Dorset Widow being much indisposed in body at present but of sound and perfect memory thanks be to God for the same knowing the uncertainty of this fraile and transitory life am willing to settle and dispose of that small estate which God of his great mercy and goodness hath bestowed upon me do make my last Will and Testament in manner followingFirst and above all things I resign up my soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and my body to the earth to be decently interred in the parish Church of Shrowton near my Deceased husband and children at the Discretion of my exeucutors hereafter named in assured hopes of a joyfull resurrection throwe the merits of my Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and as to my worldly goods I dispose of as followeth
I give unto my dear and everloving sister Mrs Bridge Strangeways my Diamond Ring my Cushions of my own working and my silk carpet my coach an a pair of my best coach horses with the harness to them belonging as she shall thinke fitt to make choice of also my own picture and five pound peice of gold
Item I give to my loving Brother in Law Henry Rives Esqr my seal Ring with the Ryves Coat of arms and my Gimell or Linckring which Capt Ryves gave me
Item to my two loving Neices Mrs Eliabeth Haysome and Mrs Anne Haysome I give my two silver plates my sugerbox my Caudle Cup and cover to it my bowle and tumblers tipped with silver my mochair Bed with the Bedsted Quilt and Blankets and all other things thereunto belonging my table boardstands looking glass and set of Cane Chairs which I lately bought with my own money also the bed and beding I usually lay on my cabinet and my china and all my earthen ware the goods of my closet with all the furniture of and in the same closet my suit of Diaper Linnen my Cambrick curtains and sheets my press that now stands in the passage chamber, my gold Bracelets God Buckles Buttons and Bodkin and all other my household goods which I bought since my husbands death also their Brother Thomas Haysomes picture and my wrought petticoats and wastcoats
Item I give to my said neice Anne Haysome my Locket in remembrance of the Queen and ten pounds in money
Item I give unto my said neice Elizabeth Haysome my Gold Watch
Item I give unto my Nephew Thomas Haysome ten pounds in money and the two pictures of his two sisters
Item I give to my sister Chaffine the late wife of my loving Brother Thomas Chaffine Esqr Deceased one hundred pounds.
Item I give to my Nephew Mr Thomas Chaffine the horse my sister Strangeways gave me
Item I give to my loving sister Amphillis Chissinch a gold Ring of the price of twenty shillings
Item I give to my loving neice St loe? now wife of Mr. George Stloe? my tow peices of Gold called I think spurrnobles or purryalls
Item I give to my nephew Skynner his uncle Prouses? picture now in my closet and to my cousine Roger Prouse my sealed Ring with the Prouses arms
Item to my very good friend Mr Nicholas Ingram I give my silver tankard and my best horse after my said sister strangeways hath chosen heir pair
Item I give to my Godson James Crouch ten pounds
Item I give to my servant Robert Willy fifty pounds
Item to my late Boy William Hawkins and to George Syms Nathaniel Sibley and John Roth my now servt boys five pounds a peice I give
Item to my loving cousin Mr Arthur Fussell and his wife and to my good friend Mr Samuel Palmer and his wife a Ring of twenty shillings a peice.
Item to my own servant Maid Mrs Elizabeth Cooper I give twenty pounds in money and all my wearing apparell of linnen and woollen (except my wraught petticoats and wastcoats before given) also I give her my chest of drawers in my chamber my press Bedsted and the Bed i nthe same Bested
Item I give to my very good friend Mrs Susanna Spicer five poudns and to my late servant Dorothy Stickley five pounds
Item I give to Thomas Tapper of Shrowton my Workman forty shillings to Richard Tapper Clerke of the parish of Shrowton twenty shillings to the wife of John Baldwyne the younger of Shrowton twenty shillings and to John Coombes of Farrendon twenty shillings
Item to all my servants which shall be in covenant with and at the time of my death (which hath no legacy in and by this my will before given unto them) I give and bequeath twenty shillings a peice over and besides their wages
Item the wedding Ring of my husband Prouse I give unto Mr John Gilbert minister of Plimouth in the County of Devon all which said legacies to be paid and delivered within one year next after my decease all the rest and residue of my Good Chattells and personall estate whatsoever I give and Devise unto my everloving sister Mrs Bridget Strangeways and Mr Nicholas Ingram equally whom I make and ordain execuors of this my last will and testament saving that I give unto parson Burtle Minister of Iwerne Minster and to parson Merry Minster of Steepleton five pounds a peece In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seale this present fourth day of November in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred ninety five

A Codicill to be annexed to my last Will and Testament
Whereas I have by my last Will and Testament dated the fourth Day of November in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred ninety five given to my neice Stloe now ife of George Stloe my two peices of Gold called I think Spurnobles or Spuryalls now I doe hereby revoke that Guift and doe give the same two peires of Gold with seven other scepter peices to my two loving neices Ann and Eliabeth Haysome And whereas I have by my said will given unto my Godson James Crouch ten pounds Now I do hereby withdraw and countermand five pounds of the said ten pounds ot being my will he shall have but five pounds.
Item I give unto my loving Kindswoman Ann Mynn twenty pounds and I also give unto my loving neice Ann Haysome and Nicholas Ingram twenty pounds in trust for my sister Ryves wife of my Brother Henry Ryves to be paid to her at such time and in such manner as she shall desire the same
Item I give to Goody Roth Goody James Goody Clench Goody Godwen my wakers twenty shillings a peice
Item I give to my aunt Lutterell now of Pimpne five pounds and to my cousin Tho Chaffine of London son of Doctor Chaffine five poudns In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale the fourth day of April one thousand six hundred ninety seven.
