In the Name of God Amen, I John Reeve of the Town of Shouthold in the Countyof Suffolk in the Colony of New York weaver being very sick and weake in Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore calling to mind the uncertainty of this Life and that it is appointed for all men once to Dye, Doe make constitute and ordaine this to be my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First I commend my soul to God who gave it, and my body to the Earth to be buried in Decent Burial at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named. Secondly I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Martha Reeve all my stock of Liveing as? Creators of my kind soever and the use of all that part of my lands and meadows, (During the time of her widowhood and no Longer) that shall hereafter in this my Last Will give unto my two younger sons, and also one half part of all my household goods, which said household goods & stick of Liveing Creators I doe give to my said Wife for ever. Thirdly I give unto my son John Reeve and to his heirs and assigns forever one half part of my Land at Catthange and one half part of my meadow at Cattchange and aquabank. Fourthly I give unto my son Elisha Reeve and to his heirs and assigns forever, one half part of my Land at Cattchange and one half of my meadow of Cattchange and acquabank, of which I have given my said son John the other haf part, and my will is that my said two sons John and Elisha doe yearly and ever years During the time that my said wife remains my widow cut make and bring to her for her use from the said meadow at Acquabank one load of hay which if my said son shall neglect or refuse to doe, that then my mind and will is that my said wife shall have the whole use of the said meadow at Acquabank, During the time she remains my widow anything contained in this my Last Will to the contrary notwithstanding. Fifthly I give unto my son Walter Reeve for ever ten pounds in money to be paid by my executors hereafter named, Sixthly I give unto my Daughter Hannah now wife of Gideon Young (over & above what she hath already had) two platters and two b?, Seaventhly I give and bequeath unto my two sons Nathan and Samuell Reeve and to their heirs and assigns forever to be equally Divided between them two, all my Lands Houses, meadows and Creekthatch whether Divided or undivided Lying between Cattchange and Towncreek? in the said Township with half a Lott of Creek that Lying in the said Cattchange flats. Eightly I give unto my son Jonathan Reeve for ever ten pounds in money, ninthly I give unto my two Daughters Abigail and Martha forever one half part of my household goods Equally between them. Lastly of this my Last Will and Testament I doe hereby constitute and appoint my welbeloved wife Martha Reeve to be my Executrix with full power and authority to act in & about the premises.
In witness where I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seale this Fifteenth Day of December in the yeare of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and Twelve
