This Indenture made the sixteenth Day of July in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George of Great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c and in the year of our Lord God one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen between Robert Ryeves of Surry County and Sarah his wife of the one part and Nichl Calleyham of the same County of the other part - Witnesseth - that the said Robert Ryves and Sarah his wife by Indenture bearing Date the Day of this Instant being the Day before the Date of these presents for the consideration therein mentioned Did grant bargain and sell unto the said Nicholas Calleyham his Exrs and Assigns one Hundred Acres of land lying on the South side of Nottaway River be the same more or less To wit beginning at a maple upon the said river bank thence southerdly along a line of markt trees to a corner Hickory thence North thirty seven degrees west fourty eight pole to a red oak thence West thirty seven Degrees North fifty & a half poles to a red oak thence North thirty eight Degrees West Twenty Eight poles to a pine thence West Two Degrees North Twenty Eight Poles to a white oak thence North fourteen & a half Degrees East one hundred fourty four poles to a maple on the river bank thence Down the same as it meanders to the begining and the reversions thereof as by the said recorded Indenture more fully and at large it doth appear now this Indenture. Witnesseth that the said Robert Ryeves & Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the sume of five shillings and for Divers good Causes and considerations them hereunto moving have granted released and confirmed and Do by these presents grant release and confirm unto the said Nicholas Callegham his Heirs and assigns all the Aforesaid messuage with the Appurtenances and every part & parcel thereof & all estates right titles Interest claim & demand whatsoever of them the said Robert Ryeves & Sarah his wife of in and to the premises and every or any part or parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said messuage &c and every part thereof with the Appurtenances mentioned or Intended to be hereby granted Released and confirmed unto the said Nicholas Calleyham his heirs and assigns for ever and to no other use and purpose whatsoever In wittness whereof the said partys have hereto set their hands & Affixed their seales the Day and year above written

At a court held at Southwark for the County of Surry July 16th 1718

This Day appeared in Court the above named Robert Reieves and Did Acknowledge the above mentioned contents to be his real Act & Deed As also Sarah his wife (being privately examined) appearing in Court relinquish her right of Dower of in and to the above mentioned Land and premises which is ordered to be recorded and is recorded by
