York County, Maine Court of Common Pleas Records, Book 12, p197John Leamont of GeorgeTown within the County of York yeoman Plat. vs James Rives and James Rives Junr both of a place called Whichcapick within no Township & within the County of York Labourers Defds. In a plea of the Case (as by the writ is set forth) The Defds being called & not appearing It's therefore considered by the court that the Plat. shall recover against the Defts the sum of twelve pounds money damage and the sum of nine pounds one shillings for cost of suit.

James Rives of Boston in the County of Suffolk Fisherman Plat vs John Pumroy of a place called Witchassett in the County of York husbandman Deft in a plea of Debt (as by the writ is set forth) the Plat. became non suit & cost allowed the Deft taxed at three pounds nineteen shillings.

NOTE: The case papers for the above case mention "James Rives of Boston in our County of Suffolk Fisherman alias Dictus James Rives of Wiscassett in the County of York in the Province of the Massachusetts Bay Husbandman." Witchassett is a misspelling of the town of Wiscassett.

James Rives of Kittery in said County of York mariner plt. vs Royal Tyler of Scarborough in said County Husbandman Def in a plea of the Case as of the writ is set forth on file The Deft the solemnly called to come into court did not appear by made default It is therefore considered by the court that the said James Rives shall recover against the said Royal Tyler the sum of Eleven Pounds money Damage in Bills of the last emission and cost of court taxed at the sum of three pounds two shillings.
