This Indenture made the fourteenth day of July 1740 Between John Reaves of St Stephens parish in the County of Northumberland and Collony of Virginia of the one part and Elizabeth Pugh Daughter of the said John Reaves of the said parish County and Collony of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Reaves for the consideration hereafter mentioned hath granted bargained sold demised unto the said Elizabeth Pugh his Daughter for and During the Term of her natural life a parcell of land fell to me by Capt Edward Sanders Decd last will and Testament situate lying and being in the County & and collony aforesaid and bounded as followeth joyning on the land of Mr John Coles the land of Richard ??? and the land leased to Elles Gill and on the East head branch of marr??? Creek together with fifty acres of land together with all woods waters priviledges and appurtenances whatsoever to the said parcell of land and premises unto the said Elizabeth Pugh Daughter of the said John Reaves in consideration of good and sufficient ??? in hand paid but more in particular for the natural love and affection I bear unto my said Daughter In witness whereof the parties have set their hands and seals the Day and year first written.

August the 11th 1740 This Deed of Lease was acknowledged in Northumberland County Courts by John Reaves and Elizabeth his wife unto their Daughter Elizabeth Pugh on whose motion the Lease is admitted to Record.
