KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that we Patience Gatewood and George Reeves of Essex County are held and firmly bound unto James Webb of the Same County in the penal sum of one thousand pounds Current money of Virg.a to which payment well and truely (sic) to be made we bind our Selves our heirs Executors and administrators firmly by these presently Sealed with our Seals and Dated this Twenty first Day of May one Thousand Seven hundred and forty five
THE CONDITION of this obligation is Such that whereas the above named James Webb together with John Hunt and Nathaniel Fogg at the Special Instance and Request of the said Patience Gatewood and as her Sureties by obligation bearing date of fifteenth day of December one Thousand Seven hundred & thirty became Jointly and Severally bound together with the said Patience unto the Worshipfull Justices of the County Court of Essex in the penal Sum of one Thousand Pounds Currant money Conditioned for the sd. Patience her true and faithfull Execution of the Last will and Testament of her late husband Richard Gatewood Deceased & administrators of his Estate as in by the sd. Obligation and condition may appear if therefore the said Patience her Executors or administrators do well and truly perform the Last Will and Testament of the said Richard Gatewood and administer his Estate in discharge of the sd. Obligation and thereby Save and keep harmless and Indemnified the said James Webb his Heirs Executors Admrs. their goods & Chattles Lands and Tenements of and from allSuch Losses Costs, Suits, Troubles, Damages or Expences as he or they or any of them shall or may Sustain or be put to for or by Reason of the said obligation & condition or any matter of thing thereunto Relating without Fraud or Covin then the above obligation to be Void or Else to Remain in full force & Virtue
