THIS INDENTURE made this twenty ninth day August in the twenty ninth year of the Reign of our Sovoreign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland King Defendor off the Faith &c and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & fifty four between Mallichy Reeves and James Reeves of the one part WITNESSETH bothe of the County of Granvil in the provinc of North Carolina WITNESSETH THAT WHEREAS THE SAID Mallichy Reeves for and in Consideration of the Sum of Sixty pounds Currant money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the Said James Reeves at or before the Ensealing & Signing of these presents this Receipt whereof As the Said Mallichy Reeves doth hereby acknowledge Hath Granted Bargained & Sold Alliened Enfeoffed Released and Confirmed and by these presents Doth Grant Bargain & Sell Allien Enfeoff Release & Confirm unto the said James Reeves his heirs and Assigns for ever all that tract or parcel of Land situate in the County of Granvil in this Provinc of North Carrolina afoarsaid containing by Estimation five hundred & twenty two Ackres more or less and Bounded as follows, to wit Beginnig at a White Oake on the North side of Fishing Creek thence running N 380 pole to a White Oak thence W 220 pole to a Hiccory thence S 380 pole to a White Oake then & to the beginning and also the Reversion & Reversions Remainder an Remainders Rents & Services thereof and also all the Estate Right Title Interest Claims & Demand whatsoever of him the said Mallichi Reeves of in & to the said premises an of in & to every part & parcel thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD THE Said tract or parcel of Land & primises above mentioned with the appurtenances unto the said James Reeves his heirs an assigns to the only proper use & behoof of him the said James Reeves his heirs & assigns for ever And the Said Mallichy Reeves for himself his heirs Execs & Admins doth Covenant & Grant to & with the said James Reeves his heir s& Assigns that the Said Mallichy Reeves & his heirs an Assigns the Said tract or parcel of Land & primises against him and his heirs & Assigns an against all and every other person & persons whatsoever shall & will Warrant and for ever Defend by these presents IN WITNESS whereof the Said Malichi Reeves hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his Seal the Day and Year above Wrighton.

Commentary

This appears to be the same tract of land that was sold by William Reeves, Jr. to Malachi Reeves on 29 May 1753.
