This Indenture made this twenty sixth Day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & fifty seven Between John Marshall of the County of Brunswick of the one part of Frederick Rieves & Burwell Rieves of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Marshall for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred & fifty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Frederick & Burwell Rieves the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & himself therewith fully satisfied Hath Granted Bargaind sold aliened released & confirmed unto the said Frederick & Burwell Rieves & to their Heirs & assigns for ever one certain tract or parcill of land containing three hundred & thirty acres lying & being in the County of Brinswick on the South side of Briery Creek & bounded as by letters patent granted to John Ezell Dated at Williams Burg the twenty fifth day of July one thousand seven hundred & forty one & by Indenture of Conveyance made over by the said Ezell to Richard Russell & by the like Indentures conveyed by the said Lindsay to Henry Seaward and by the like Indenture conveyed by the said Seaward to the afsd John Marshall Reference being had to the said Letters patent & Indentures of sale may more fully appear Together with all Houses Orchards Woods Underwoods Waters & Water Courses thereon standing Growing & being with all profits commidities advantages & appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining and also the reversion & reversions remainder & remaindes thereof & of every part & parcill thereof To have & to hold the said tract of land & premises with their & every of their appurtenances unto the said Frederick & Burwell Rieves & to their heirs & assigns for ever to the only proper use & behoof of them the said Frederick & Burwell Rieves their heirs & assigns for ever & he the said John Marshall for himself & his heirs Doth Covenant and agree to & with the said Frederick & Burwell Reeves their heirs & assigns that they shall & may at all times hereafter peaceably & quietly hold & enjoy the said granted lands & premises free from all former sales gifts mortgages rights of dower or any other encumberances whatsoever and he the said John Marshall & his heirs shall & will warrant & forever defend the said granted lands & premises with the appurtenances unto the said Frederick & Burwell Rieves their heirs & assigns forever against all other person or persons that shall lay claim thereunto and further that the said John Marshall & his heirs shall & will at any time within the space of twenty years of the costs & charge of the said Frederick & Burwell Rieves their heirs & assigns make do & execute all such further act or deed for the better conveyance of the said granted lands & premises as they the said Frederick & Burwell Rieves their heirs & assigns or their or either of their counsell (?) in the law shall advise or require.
