Richard Reives of the parish of Albemarle in the county of Sussex of the one part and John Reives of the parish and county aforesaid Witnesseth that the said Richard Reives for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said John Reives the receipt whereof the said Richard Reives doth hereby acknowledge he the said Richard Reives Hath granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and by these presents doth Give Grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said John Reives his heirs and assigns forever all that seat(?) tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in parish and county aforesaid on the south side of Nottoway River being part of the tract on which the said Richard Reives now lives Beginning at a hickory on the River Bank a corner of William Eldridge's line thence along the said Eldridge's line to a large pine thence along a line of marked trees between the said Richard Reives and Richard Reives junr to William Pettway's line thence along the said Pettways line to the River thence along the various courses of the river to the tree begun all to include one hundred and eighty five acres more or less together with all the houses gardens orchards and stables and also all the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and seizure of all and singular the said premises and every part and parcel thereof and also all the estate right title claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Richard Reives and to the said premises and of in and to every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances to have and to hold the said seat tract or parcel of land and all and singular other the premises hereby granted bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said John Reives his heirs and assigns forever to the only use and behoof of the said John Reives his heirs and assigns forevermore and the said Richard Reives his heirs the said tenement tract piece or parcel of land and premises above mentioned with the appurtenances to the said John Reives his heirs and assigns forever against him the said Richard Reives and his heirs and all other persons shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
