Transcript

This Indenture made the seventh day of April in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred sixty and one Between Isaac Reaves of the County of Lunenburgh of the one part and Danniell Courtis of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Isaac Reaves for and in consideration of the sum of ten pounds currtt money of Virga to him in hand paid by the said Daniell Courtis the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully and intirely sattisfy'd hath Bargained, sold alien'd Released, and confirmed and by these presents for himself his heirs do grant, Bargain sell, alien, release and confirm unto the said Danniell Courtis his heirs and assigns for ever one certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred acres be the same more or less lying and being in the County aforesaid on the south side of flat rock Creek Branches It being part of a tract of land whereon Baxter Bagsdale now lives and Bounden as followeth, to witt, Beginning at a corner poplar upon the south fork of Moodys Branch, thence Running a south east course to Irsaell Browns line to a corner pine. Thence running a North West corner to Cornelius Priests line to a corner shrub oak. Thence running a south east course to the south fork of Moodys Branch to the beginning poplar with all Houses orchards Gardens fences, woods underwoods waters and water courses stand growing and being with all profits comodities, advantages appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining thereof and every part and parcel thereof.
To have and to hold the said Land and premises with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Daniel Courtis and to his heirs and assigns for ever to the only use and Behoof of him the said Daniell Courtys and he the said Isaac Reaves for himself his heirs doth covenant Grant and agree to and with the said Daniell Courtis his heirs and assigns, that he and they shall and may at all times hereafter peaceably and quietly hold and enjoy the said Granted land and premises free from all former sales gifts morgages Rights of DOwer, or any other incumbrances whatsoever and the said Isaac Reaves and his heirs shall and will warrant and forever defend the said Granted land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Danniell Courtis his heirs and assigns forever against all other person or persons that shall claim any right or title thereunto. In witness whereof the aforesaid Isaac Reaves hath hereunto set his hand & seal this seventh day of April In the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred sixty and one
