Transcription

THIS INDENTURE made the 18th day of may in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty one Between James Mills Gentleman of the County of Essex and Parish of Southfarnham of the one part and James Reeves of the same County and Parish Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Mills for and in Consideration of the sum of Five shillings Current money to him in hand paid by the said James Reeves the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have Granted Bargained and sold and by these presents do Grant Bargain and Sell unto the said James Reeves and to his heirs and assigns the several Tracts and Parcels of Land that he the said James Mills purchased of Mary Jones James Gatewood and Benjamin Gatewood Containing by Estimation Five hundred and Twenty acres be the same more or Less together with all the marshes adjoyning (sic) and belonging to the same Scituate (sic) lying and being in the parish and County aforesaid and on the South side of hors kins Creek together with all houses Gardens orchards Fences Woods ways marshes water and watercourses Profitts priviledges Commodities hereditaments and appurtenances whatsover to the Same belonging or in any wise appurtaining (sic) and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said James Mills of in…and to the said land and premises or any part thereof To have and to hold the said Several Track and Parcels of Land and premises and Every part thereof with the appurtenances unto the said James Reeves and to his heirs and assigns form (sic) the day before the date hereof for and During the full End and Term of one year from thence next Ensuing and fully to be Compleat and Ended yeilding (sic) and paying therefore the yearly Rent of one year of Indian Corn at the Feast of Saint Michael the Arch angle (sic) Only if the same be lawfully Demanded/to the End intent and purpose that by Virtue of these presents and of the Wahite (? Right) for Transfering uses into possession the said James Reeves may be in the actual Possession of the premises and be Enabled to accept of a grant and Release of the Reversion and Inheritance thereof to him and his heirs forever IN WITNESS whereof the said James Mills hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and year above Written
