THIS INDENTURE made this fifteeneth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred & Sixty five BETWEEN Jeremiah Reeves of Granville County & province of North Carolina planter of the one part & Mills (sic Miles) Wells of the said County & province of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Jeremiah Reaves (sic Reeves) for & in Consideration of the Sum of Sixty pounds proclamation money to him in hand paid before the Sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Jeremiah Reeves doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained & Sold Alien Enfeoffed Released & Confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain & Sell Alien Enfeoff Release & Confirm unto the said Miles Wells his heirs & Assigns forever one Certain Tract or parcel of land Situate lying & being in the County of Granville aforesaid and on the branches of Fishing Creek BEGINING at a blk oak Runing S110po to a blk oak thence along Meades (?) line No 65 W 72 poles to a red Oak thence along his line So 25 Wt 80 poles to a Hicory thence along Frazers line W 300 poles to a red Oak, thence No 100 poles to a white Oak thence along Taylors line Et 70 poles to a white oak thence his line No 30 poles to a persimmon thence along Robert Dukes line Et 335 poles to the first STATION Containing by Estimated two hundred & Seventy Acres of Land with its Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents & Services thereof & also all the Estate Right Title property Claim & Demand whatsoever of him the said Jeremiah Reeves of in & to the said Land & Premises & of in & to every part & Parcel thereof TO HAVE & TO HOLD THE SAID Tract or parcel of Land & Premises with the appurtenances unto the said Miles Wells his heirs & assigns forever & the said Jeremiah Reaves (sic Reeves) for himself & his heirs doth Covenant & agree to & with Miles Wells that he the said Jeremiah Reeves the said Tract or parcel of Land & premises & the appurtenances unto the said Miles Wells his heirs & assigns forever will Warrant & forever defend by these presents IN WITNESS whereof the said Jeremiah Reeves hath hereunto Set his hand & Affixed his Seal the day & year first above Written.Jeremiah Reeves (Seal)
