Transcript

This Indenture made this ninth day of June one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight Between Jonathan Pattison jr of Lunenburg County of the one part and Isaac Reaves of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jonathan Pattison jr for and in consideration of the sum of seventy two pounds current of Virginia to him in hand paid or secured to be paid by the said Isaac Reaves hath this present day Bargained sold & Delivered & by these presents doth bargain sell make over and confirm unto him the sd Isaac Reaves his Heirs Exrs Admrs or assigns one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the aforsd COunty of Lunenburg on the Branches of Mahinin River and Bounded as follows Viz. Beginning at a Corner Hickory on John Hays & on sd Jonathan Pattisons line, along his the sd Pattisons line to a corner on Phillip Cockerhans thence along his to part of the same survey belong to Orphans of Nicholas Hobes and so along to Jas Hixs & thence along his line to the begining containing Two hundred acres more or less To have and to hold the above sold land and premises unto him the sd Isaac Reaves his heirs exrs & admrs against him the sd Jonathan Pattison jr his heirs executors & admrs against him the said Jonathan Pattison jr his heirs executors & admrs and the said Jonathan Pattison jr for himself his heirs exrs & admrs doth further covenant and agree to and with the sd Isaac Reaves his heirs exrs adms or assigns that he the sd Jonathan Pattison jr his heirs exrs & adms will warrant and forever defend the title of the above sold land & premises unto him the sd Isaac Reaves his heirs Exrs admrs or assigns against the claim or claims of any other person or persons whatever. In witness whereof the sd Jonathan Pattison jr hath hereto sett his hand & affixed his seal the Day & year above written
