This Indenture made this Sixteen day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred & Seventy one Between Thomas Hadden and Mary his wife of the County of Essex in the Colony of Virginia of the one part and Henry Allen of the same County and Colony of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Thomas Hadden & mary his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of Seventy Pounds curr.t money to them in hand paid or Secured to be paid by the said Henry Allen before the Ensealing and delivery of these presents, the Receipt whereof they do hereby Acknowledge HAVE Granted, Bargained, Sold, Aliened Enfeoffed & Confirmed and by these Presents Do grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff & Confirm unto the said Henry Allen his heirs & Assigns for ever all that tract of Land & Plantation lately allotted to the said Thos. Hadden & Mary his wife by a division with Wm. Porter and Elizabeth his wife the said Lands by the Last Will and Testament of Henry Reeves decd father of the said Mary & Elizabeth was devised to his son Brewer in Fee Simple who dying in his Infancy the same descended to John his Brother, who also dying in his Infancy the same descended to the aforesd. Mary Party hereto & Elizabeth who Entered & is thereof possessed as Coheirs Containing one hundred & forty acres Situate lying and being near Piscataway Church in South farnham Parish & County aforesd. & Bounded as followeth (Viz.) Begining at a (blank) Standing in the west side of the Road that leads from Picataway old mill to the Church which is near the said Church & runing thence North 49 degrees West 60 poles to a Corner thence South 47 degrees West 125 Poles to a Cornr Thence South 25 East 142 poles to a Corner thence along the Line of division North 69 degrees East 134 Poles to two Red oak Saplins by the sd. (sic ?) of the sd. Road thence along the same its Several Courses 150 poles to the beginning and the Reversion & Reversions, Remainder & Remainders thereof And all the Estate Right, Title and Interest of them the sd. Thomas Hadden and Mary his Wife or either of them in and to the same or any part thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the Lands and premises aforesaid & every Part thereof with the appurtenances unto the sd. Henry Allen his heirs & Assigns to the only proper use and Behoof of the said Henry Allen his heirs and Assigns for Ever. And the said Thomas Hadden and Mary his wife for themselves & each of them for himself & herself his & her heirs Exors & Admrs do Covenant and Grant to and with the said Henry Allen his heirs & assigns that he his heirs & assigns the Lands & premises hereby Granted w.th the appurtenances & every part thereof Shall & may hold possess & Enjoy without the Suit Hindrance Molestation or disturbance of any Person or persons Whatsoever having or Lawfully Claiming any Right or Title therein And also that the sd. Thomas Hadden and Mary his wife their and each of their Heirs the Lands and Premises with the appurtenances & Every Part thereof to the said Henry Allen his heirs and Assigns shall and will WARRANT and for ever Defend by these Presents IN WITNESS whereof the Parties first above named have hereunto set their hands & Seals the day & Year first above written.Sealed & delivered } Thomas Hadden (Seal)

Thomas Hadden and Mary his wife (She being first privately Examined thereto consenting) Acknowledged this Indenture to Henry Allen to be their act and Deed and the said Thomas who also acknowledged the Receipt for the consideration money thereon endorsed to be his act and Deed which are admitted to record.
