Transcript

This Indenture made the second day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and seventy three Between Thomas Reeves of the Township of Debtford County of Gloucester and Province of New Jersey yeoman of the one part and John Reeves of Northampton County of Burlington and Province aforesd yeoman of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Reeves for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds Proclamation money to him in hand paid by the said John Reeves the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said Thomas Reeves and thereof doth requit release and discharge the said John Reeves his exrs and Admrs forever by these presents Hath Granted Bargained and forever Acquitted claim and by these presents doth fully freely clearly and absolutely for himself his heirs Exrs and Admrs Grant Bargain and forever acquit all claim that he now hath or may hereafter have unto the said John Reeves and to his heirs and assigns forever in of or to one certain plantation and tract of land lying and being in the Township of Northampton aforesaid and is that one Hundred and sixty acres of land Given by the Last Will and Testament of Walter Reeves to his son William Reeves being part of that tract of land purchased of George Hutchinson as by the said Will and Deed of conveyance from said Hutchinson may appear. Together with all and singular the mines minerals woods ways waters fowling fishing hawkings huntings buildings and all other royalties purchases pwers profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appurtaining and also all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever, either in law or equity of in unto or out of the above granted and acquited land and premises or any part or parcel thereof with the reversions and remainders thereof and every part and parcel thereof. To Have and to hold the above granted and requited land and premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said John Reeves and to his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said John Reeves his heirs and assigns forever. And the sd Thomas Reeves and his heirs the above Granted and acquited land and premises against himself and his heirs and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever lawfully claiming by from or under him them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Thomas Reeves hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written...the words unto the said John Reeves and ot his heirs and assigns forever was interlined before execution.

Be It Remembered that on the seventeenth day of May 1786 personally appeared before me Israel Shreve one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas Thomas Fenimore Esqr who upon his solemn affirmation saith that he was present and saw Thomas Reeves the within Grantor sign seal and Deliver the within Deed of Conveyance for the uses and purpose therein contained and that at the same time this affirmant and the other subscribing witness subscribed their names as witnesses.
