This Indenture Made the twenty ninth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy five Between Henry Reeves of Evesham in the County of Burlington in the Western Division of the Province of New Jersey and Hannah his wife of the one part And William Smith of the City and County of Burlington in the said Division Esquire of the other part Witnesseth that the said Henry Reeves and Hannah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Forty seven pounds current money of the said Western Division to them or one of them paid by the said William Smith the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and the said William Smith his executors and administrators thereof for ever acquitted have Granted Bargained and sold and by these presents do Grant Bargain sell release enfeoff and confirm unto the said William Smith and to his heirs and assigns a certain messuage plantation and parcel of land situate partly in Wellingborough and partly within the limits of Burlington bounded as followeth Viz Beginning at a small Burrow Black Oak standing in Rodmans line and extends by the said Rodmans Land North nine chains and fifteen links to an old white oak standing in Lyons swamp corner to said Rodman by which it runs north fifty one degrees west six chains and ten links to a black oak then south eighty six degrees west by the land of William Smith nine chains and a half to a post by a hickory thence south three degrees west seven chains and seventy links to a small white oak then in a strait line to the corner first named containing fourteen acres one quarter and fourteen square perches be it more or less. Which fourteen acres one quater and fourteen perches the said Henry Reeves became duly seized of by virtue of a Devise thereof to him in the last Will and Testament of his Father Joseph Reeves dated the Twenty eighth day of August 1767 in fee as by the said Will duly proved and Recorded at Burlington will appear and the same premises was purchased by the said Joseph Reeves of William Farrell and Lyida his wife as appears by Deed dated the tenth day of August 1763 Together with all and singular the minerals woods waters Buildings Rights Liberties priviledges hereditaments and appurtenances to the said Granted land and premises belonging and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of the said Henry Reeves and Hannah his wife of in and to the same. To have and to hold the said fourteen acres one quarter and fourteen perches of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereof unto the said William Smith his heirs and assigns. To the only proper use Benefit and behoof of the said William Smith his heirs and assigns. And the said Henry Reeves for himself his heirs executors and Administrators doth covenant promise Grant and agree to and with the said William Smith his heirs and assigns. That he the said Henry Reeves now at the time of sealing and Delivery of these presents is and standeth lawfully & rightfully seized of and in the said Granted and Bargained premises with the Appurtenances as of a good sure perfect and indefeasible estate of inheritance in the law in fee simple. And the said Henry Reeves for himself and his heirs doth further covenant that the said Granted land and premises with the appurtenances in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said William Smith his heirs and assigns against himself the said Henry Reeves and his heirs and against himself the said Henry Reeves and his heirs and against all and every other person and person whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend. Be it Remembered that on the Twenty ninth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy five 1775. Personally appeared before me Robt Smith one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas for the County of Burlington Henry Reeves and Hannah his wife the Grantors of the within Deed and did acknowledge they sealed and Delivered the same for the use and purpose therein mentioned And the said Hannah being by me examined apart from her said husband according to law did declare that she executed the same fully and voluntarily without any threats or compulsion of her said husband.
