KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that John Ball Seiner (sic) of the County of Essex for and in Consideration of the natural Love and affection I bear unto my son John Ball of the County of King William do hereby give grant and forever make over unto him my said Son John Ball & to his Heirs forever My still one Cow Two small Steares (sic) to have & to hold the said before mentioned premises unto the said John Ball his heirs Executors Administrators & assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Ball his heirs Executors Administrators & assigns forever. And I the said for myself my heirs Executors Administrators & assigns the said premises unto the said John Ball his heirs Executors administrators and Assigns against all Persons whatsoever shall and will Warrant & forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed my Seal this the third day of December in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred & Seventy eight

Commentary

Although no marriage record has been located for John Ball, Jr. and his wife Jane mentioned in various deeds, this deed of gift may be an indication of the approximate time of their marriage.
