BE IT KNOWN to whom it may Concern that we Joseph Farguson & Patience his Wife do for Consideration of Ann Fraizer Gatewood taking out a Certain a Suit pending in Henry Court for sundry Negroes that we do by Consent give up the said Negros to the said Ann Fraizer Gatewood to her & her heirs &c for ever only on the above Consideration the sd. Ann Frazer Gatewood do len (sic lend) to her Mother Patience Farguson two the same during her Natural life and named Will and render and then at her death to release to the sd. Ann Frazer Gatewood as hers to own &c AS WITNESS our hands this 21st day of April 1779 ~ Signed Sealed
And Delivered in Presence of           }                                       Joseph Farguson
Waters Dunn jr. John Finch                                                     Patience Farguson

At a Court held for Henry County on the 26th day of August 1779 ~
These articles of agreement was (sic) Proved by the oaths of the witnesses thereto to be act and deed of the above named Joseph Farguson & Patience his wife, & the same was ordered to be Recorded by the Court
