This Indenture made the 4th day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred & Eighty six Between Frederick Rives of the County of Franklin of the one part and Burwell Rives of the sd County of the other Part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds current money of Virginia to the sd Frederick Rives in hand Paid by the sd Burwell Rives at or before the sealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth release acquit and Discharge the sd Burwell Rives his Heirs Executors and Administrators by these Presents he the sd Fredk Rives hath granted & bargained sold aliened released & confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien Release and confirm unto the sd Burwell Rives in his actual possession now being and his Heirs one certain tract of land in the sd County of Franklin and Lying on the North side of Pigg River being the land the sd Burwell Rives on containing by estimation four hundred acres bbe the same more or less and Bounded as followeth viz. Beginning at a mouth of Glaid Creek on the north side of Pigg River then up the sd Creek to the mouth of the first branch on the north side the sd Creek thence up the sd branch to the head cornering and white oak, thence north west to the head of a Branch on the sd Creek, cornering and white oak thence down the sd Branch to the Creek, thence South West to David Kisby's line thence down Keasley's line to the sd River thence down the sd River to the Beginning and all Houses buildings ways waters & water courses profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the sd Premises hearby Granted and any Part thereof belonging in any wise appurtaining and the reversion or reversions remainder and remainders Rents issues and Profits thereof and also all the Estate right title Interest use Property claim and Demand whatsoever of him the sd Fredk Rives of in and to the Premises and all Deeds Evidences and Witnessess touching or in any wise concerning the same To have and to hold the sd four hundred acres of land and all and singular the hereby Granted and released and every part and thereof with these and every of them appurtenances unto the sd Burwell Rives his Heirs and assigns for ever to the only Proper use and behoof of him the sd Burwell Rives his heirs and assigns for ever and the sd Fredk Rives for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth Covenant Promise and Grant to and with the sd Burwell Rives his heirs and assigns by these presents that the sd Fredk Rives now at the sealing and Delivery of these Presents is seized of a Good & perfect & undefeazable estate of Inheritance in fee simple of the premises hereby granted and released and that he hath good power lawfull and good authority to grant and convey the same to the sd Burwell Rives the sd four hundred acres of land in manner & form aforesd and that the sd premises now and so far and hereafter shall remain & be free & clear and from all former & other gifts grants Bargains Sales and right of Dowers Judgment Executions Titles Troubles charges and incumberances whatsoever made done committed or suffered by the sd Fredk Rives or any other person or persons whatsoever the ? hereafter to ? and payable to the Commonwealth of Virginia and left by that the sd Fredk Rives and his heirs and all singular the premises by him Granted unto the sd Burwell Rives his Heirs & assigns forever whereof the sd Fredk Rives hath hereunto set my hand & seal the day of Date above written.Signd Sealed & Delivered }Fredk Rives L.S.
