Transcript

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Reeve now residing or lodging at Charles Brewers at the Kings Arms at Stansted Mount Fitchett in the County of Essex single man being weak of Body but of sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be to God for the same do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say I give to Sarah Webb the wife of John Webb of Thaxton Woolcomber the sum of seventy pounds and also I give to his children thirty pounds equally to be divided amongst them the children of the said John Webb I give to John Tinworth of Willesford in Cambridgshire all that my freehold messuage tenement with all the outhouses yards gardens and appurtenances thereunto belonging or being in Icklington in Cambridgshire aforesaid also I give to the said John Tinworth the sum of seventy pounds
I give to my cousin John Reeve of Bath Barber and hair dresser the sum of ninety pounds
I give to my cousin Bennet Reeve at Great Chesterford husbandman ten pounds
I give to my cousin John Reeve at Wenden? Gardiner five pounds
and all my household goods or moveables which are now at Mr Thomas Murks at Saffron Walden I give to the said Sarah Webb and to the said John Tinworth
Also I give to the said John Tinworth my best suit of cloathes and to the said John Webb my second best suit of cloathes and to the said John Webb my second best suit of cloathes and all the rest and residue of my wearing apparel to be equally divided between the said John Tinworth and the said John Webb and I will that all those my legacies which I have given should be paid in twelve months next after my decease
I give to the said Mr Thomas Burk of Saffron-Walden five pounds and to Mr Samuel Cauce? of Stansted Mount Fitchet Maltster five pounds and all the rest and residence of my monies or values whatsoever or wheresoever after all my just debts and funeral charges are paid I will to be equally divided between the said Sarah Webb and the said John Tinworth and lastly I make and ordain the said Mr. Thomas Burk and the said Mr. Samuel Cauce? executors of this my Last Will and Testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Thomas Reeve the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our hands as witnesses hereto in his presence and in the presence of each other T Headland Charles Brewer Richard Pigram

This will was proved at London the thirty first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven before the worshipful John Micholl portor of Laws and surrogate of the right worshipful Peter Calvert also Port of laws master keeper or commissary of the prerogative court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Samuel Cauce one of the executors named in the said will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the deceased having been first sworn duley to administer power reserved of making the like grant to Thomas Burk the other executor named in the said will when he shall apply for the same.
