I Mark Reeve of fairfield in the County of Cumberland and State of New Jersey being weak in body but of sound mind and memory through the extending of Divine favour and mercy do this sixteenth day of the tenth month in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as followeth As to what worldly estate it hath pleased the Lord to bless me with I dispose of as followeth
First I give unto my beloved wife Hannah Reeve thirty acres of the cleard land to be serveyed of off the upper end of the cleard land next the woods of my plantation at Alloways Creek and ten acres of woodland next adjoining the said field to be laid out square across the said plantation to fogs line and the two lots of Meadow next joining the road to her her heirs and assigns forever. I likewise give unto my said beloved wife this my homested dwelling, house and all the out houses garden and yard thereunto belonging with the wheat barn stables joining thereto and one half of all the orchards with the barnfield peartreefield and six acres of the middle field netx adjoining the said peartreefield and the Drean meadow on Cohansie Creek with the upland in the same inclosure and all the salt marsh adjoining the causway from the past land joining on Cohansey Creek against Greenwich bounded on the east by the two little Creeks and a strait course from one of the said Creeks to the other and what priviledges she may need for her own use either in the Dream Meadow or in the salt marsh below Ayreses and firewood and other timber for her own use
I give and bequeath to my beloved son Josiah Reeve all the remaining part of my said plantation at Alloways Creek agreeable to the several buts and bounds thereof to him his heirs and assigns for ever he the said Josiah Reeve paying of two certain bonds due from me to John Wood
I give and bequeath to my beloved son Mark Reeve all this my said homested plantation bounding on Cohansie Creek and running back by the several buts and bounds thereof about four hundred red to a cross dith a little to the southward of stack island and the course of the ditch to sheppards line all the said plantation to the northward of the said Ditch and line---according to the several buts and bounds thereof be the same more or less to him his heirs and assigns for ever reserving the forementioned bequeath to his mother during her life
I likewise give and bequeath to my son Mark Reeve all the salt marsh joining on the bay lying between Cohansie Creek and Middle marsh creek be the same more or less to him his heirs and assigns for ever with the lease of land and marsh that I have of Mary Sheppard
I likewise give unto my son Mark Reeve a sorrel mare and grey horse
I give and bequeath to my Beloved son William Reeve my two tennamets lying in back neck with all the land and march joining thereunto agreable to the several buts and bounds thereof to the above described head line of this my said homested plantation (the above described ditch and line to be the standing boundary between the said two plantations unto him his heirs and assigns forever his paying unto his mother the sum of ten pounds yearly and every year during her widowhead
I likewise give and bequeath to my three sons Josiah Mark and William Reeve all my cedar swamp and cripple adjoining thereto being at Morrices river known by the name of Beaver gut Cedar Swamp to be equally divided in quantity and quality to them their heirs and assigns for ever
My will is that all my grain on the plantation wheat corn flax and oats that is in the barn or on the ground be equally divided between my beloved wife and my two sons Mark and William Reeve.
My will is that all my outstanding viz bonds bills notes and book debts with all the wrought cedar now on hand go to Discharge my just debts and all the remainder of my real estate be sold by my executors to discharge the remainder of my just debts and if the above provision be not sufficient the remainder to be paid by my three sons equally between them
And all the remainder of my moveable estate I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Hannah Reeve and my will is that my three sons Josiah Mark and William Reeve pay to my beloved wife the sum of fifty pounds apiece when she shall think fit to provide a home for herself and shall call upon them for the money
And I nominate and appoint my three sons Josiah Mark and William Reeve executors to this my last will and testament desiring they may fulfill the same according to true intent and meaning hereof
In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written

Joh Butcher & Samuel Reeve two of the Witnesses to the within will being of the People called Quakers on their solemn affirmation did declare & affirm that they saw Mark Reeve the testator therein named sign & seal the same & heard him publish pronounce & declare the within writing to be his last will & Testament; & that at the doing thereof the said Testator was of sound & disposing mind & memory as far as these affirmants know & as they verily believe and that Phebe Bates - the other subscribing evidences present at the same time & signed her name as witness to the said will together with these affirmants in the presence of the said testator
