To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings Know ye that I John Reaves of the County of Wayne and province of North Carolina a planter for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred pounds Current Money of said Sate to me in hand paid before the insealing and delivery hereof with it truly paid by Adam Reaves of the county and province aforesaid the Receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge and myself therewith fully Satisfied and Contented and of every part parcel and thereof and do exonerate Acquit and Discharge the said Adam Reaves his Heirs Executors admi'trs forever by these presents have given Granted bargained and Conveyed and confirmed and by these presents to fully freely and clearly absolutely give grant bargain sell unto sd Adam Reaves his heirs forever and assigns forever a parcel of Land Situated and lying and being in the County aforesaid lying upon the south side of (unreadable) Brookses Swamp below the Maple Branch and to the miry Branch at a pine on the east side of the maple branch at the upper fork and running from the branch as it runs to the mouth thence down the swamp as it runs to the mouth of the miry Branch thence up the miry Branch to the head thence a South course to the back line in Basses patron(?) thence to the beginning Corner then up the branch a South course to William Reaves his line with his line a west course to the corner a red oak and a pine thence a North course to his Corner thence to the beginning to have and hold the said land and premises with all appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any ways appertaining to him the said John Reaves his heirs adm'trs or assigns forever to his or theirs only proper use and benefit and behoof forever I the said John Reaves for my heirs Exec'trs Executors (sic) adm'tr do Covenant promise and Ingage to and with the said Adam Reaves his heirs Executors administrators and assigns that before the Insealing hearof I am the soul and lawful owner of the above bargained promised and am lawfully possessed of the same in my own proper use rightfull power and authority to grant to bargain sell Convey the above bargained premises in manner as above said and that the said Adam Reaves his whirs Executors admi'trs or assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by virtue of this presents lawfully and peaceably quietly to have forever hereafter by the virtue of these presents have all manner of liberty property heir belonging to his and their proper use forever and he the sd John Reaves his heirs Executors or assigns quit all rites titles Claims or property thereto Belonging forever and do forever warrant and Defend the said bargained premises form all manner of person that shall Claim right title or property In witness whereunto I set my hand and Seal this fifteenth day of February 1792.
