Transcription
In the name of God Amen, I Nathaniel Reeves Planter of Cumberland County in the State of North Carolina being weak in Body, but of sound mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same/ do this Seventeenth Day of March in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred & Ninety two make and publish this my last Will and Testament, in manner following (that is to say,) Imprimis, I give to my Daughter Dicey McDaniel and her Heirs the Plantation & Land whereon I now Dwell. Item I give to my two Daughters Sarah Clark and Ann Themes the remain (sic remaining ?) part of my Lands to be equally divided among them or their Heirs -I give unto my Daughter Dicey McDaniel two Negroes Namely Toney and Lucy,
Item, I give unto my daughter Sarah Clark two Negroes Named Dick and Daniel,
Item, I give to my Daughter Ann Themes two Negroes Named Bob & Pegge,
‘Tis my Will that my Daughter Dicey’s Negroes as well as my other two Daughters Negroes to valued by three reputable Freeholders and whatever they shall think my Daughter Dicey’s Negroes shall be worth less than either of my other Daughters Negroes (above named) my Daughter Dicey shall be allowed to take out of my other Personal property before there be any Division made thereof. Item, I give unto my Daughter Sarah Twenty five Pounds to be taken out of my other Personal property, also before any Division be made The remainder of my Moveable property ‘tis my Will that it be equally Divided among my three Daughters of the Surviving part of them or their Heirs. And ‘tis my further Will also that if any of my aforesaid Daughters should Die without Heirs or an Heir that her or their parts shall be equally divided among the remaining part of their Heir or Heirs. And I hereby and --in constitute & appoint my son-in-Law William Gray McDaniel to be my Executor to this my last Will and Testament. IN WITNESS whereof I have to this my last Will and (sic) set my hand and Seal the Day and year above Written -

Whereas I Nathaniel Reeves of Cumberland County in North Carolina (Planter) do duly make & Publish my Last Will and Testament in Writing on the 7th Day of March first past and thereby gave unto my Daughter Dicey McDaniel the whole Plantation and parcels of Land whereon I then Dwell with the appurtenances thereunto belonging Now I the said Nathaniel Reeves do by these Presents which I appoint to be annexed to my Will, and desire the same to be as and for part of sd. Will) Give and bequeath unto her the said Dicey McDaniel her Son since born (Viz since my Will aforesaid was committed to Writing she having called his Name Nathaniel after me I do hereby give and Devise the same to the aforesaid Child Nathaniel McDaniel his heirs and assigns forever the aforesaid Child namely, Nathaniel McDaniel not to have possession of the Land during the Natural life of my Daughter Dicey, which I purpose shall enjoy as long as she lives --
