In the Name of God Amen
I John Reeve of the Township of Northampton in the County of Burlington and State of New Jersey being at the time in perfect Health and of sound Mind and memory thanks begiven unto Almighty God for the same and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and put in writing this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say
First I order my executors hereinafter named to sell and dispose of all my estate both real & personal and out of the monies arrising from the sale thereof I order them to pay of and discharge all my just debts and funeral expences as soon after my decease as may be convenient.
Secondly I order my executors hereinafter named to collect all monies due unto me and to put the same together the monies arrising from the sale of my real and personal estate (after payment of my debts and funeral charges as aforesaid) out to interst on good land security
Item I order my executors and the survivors of them to support & maintain my wife Sarah Reeve during her natural life or so long as she remains my widow out of the interest arrising from the money so to be paid to interest as aforesaid and in case the interest as aforesaid should not be sufficient then I order her to be supported and maintained out of the said principal sum which I support and maintainance shall be in lieu and bar of all dower
Item It is my will and I order after the marriage or death of my said wife that the remainder of the sd money put to interest shall be divided between my four children namely Susannah, John, Eber, and Joab so that my Daughter Susannah and my sons John and Joab to have thirty three pounds six shillings and eight pence each more than my son Eber
Item It is my will and I order that if any or either of my said children should die before the marriage or death of my said wife then his her or their share to be equally devided among the survivors
Item I do hereby authorize and impower my executors hereafternamed and the survivor of them to make and execute good and sufficient deed or deeds to the purchasor or purchasers in fee simple for my said real estate
And lastly I do nominate and appoit my son Eber Reeve and my worthy Friend Thomas Paterson executors of this my Last Will and Testament hereby making null and void all other and former wills and Testaments heretofore by me made and order this only to be taken for my said Last Will & Testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the seventeenth day of January one thousand and seven hundred and ninety four 1794

James Coppucke one of the witnesses to the within will, being duly sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, did depose and say, that he saw John Reeves, the testator therein named, sign and seal the same and heard him publish pronounce and declare the within writing to be his last will and Testament; and that at the doing thereof the said testator was of sound disposing mind and memory as far as this deponent knows and as he verily believes; and that William Clark and Samuel Read the other subscribing evidences were present at the same time and signed their names as witnesses to the said will together with this deponent in the presence of the said testator.
