This Indenture made this tenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and ninety five and twentieth year of American Independence between Reeves (no given name stated) of Pendleton County and State of South Carolina of the one part and Thomas McGregger fo Lawrence County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jordan Reeves for and in consideration of the sum of seventy Pound Sterling to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained Sold Released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell Release and confirm unto the said Thomas McGregger . . . land lying and being in Pendleton County ad State of South Carolina on big Genersostee Creek Containing one hundred and twenty five acres it being part of a tract of 254 acres originally granted to Aeson Jay by his Excellency Thomas Pinckney Recorded in Grant Book WWWW page 103 which said part of a 125 acres is legal by convey to Said Jordan Reeves Bounded on the NE by lands held by James Hillbrook on the S by lands held by _ McCluskey on the W and NW by lands held by Jacob Chamblee and Daniel Stringer the same to include the plantation the said Jordan Reeves now lives on together with all that does or may in any manner appertain thereunto and I the said Jordan Reeves my heirs Executor and administrator and Assigns do Warrant and forever defend the aforesaid tract of 125 acres unto the said Thomas McGregger . . . Witness Whereof I set my hand and Seal this day and year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered in the presents of Jesse Brown George Guzel Simon Walker
