Transcript

This Indenture made this Eighth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six Between Richard Reeves of Baltimore County Balcksmith of the one part and Benjamin Hide of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Richard Reeves for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money to him in hand paid by the said Benjamin Hide at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, and for and in consideration of the performance of the covenant herein after mentioned to be kept and performed by and on the part of the said Benjamin Hide his executors administrators and assigns hath bargained sold assigned transfered and set over and by these presents Doth bargain sell assign transfer and set over unto the said Benjamin Hide his executors administrators and assigns all that place or parcel of Ground being part of a tract of land called Davids fancy lying and being in the County aforesaid and contained within the following metes and bounds courses and distances to wit Beginning for said piece or parcel of ground at the end of fifty eight perches ten feel in a north eighty one degrees east courses from the pig iron at William Locks beginning and running thence north eighty one degrees east sixteen perches, then south ten degrees east twenty perches ten feet to cross street thence south eighty three degrees west binding on Cross street sixteen perches to the south east corner of James Georges Lot and thence binding on the east side of said lott to the beginning containing two acres twenty four perches more or less (which said lott or parcel of ground the said Richard Reeves holds at present by assignment of Lease for ninety nine years renewable forever, from a certain John Cole as by reference to the said assignment recorded among the records of Baltimore County Court in Liber WG No LL folio 490 & more fully and at large appears To have and to hold the said piece or parcel of Ground and premises with every the appurtenances thereunto belonging and appertaining to him the said Benjamin Hide his executors administrators and assigns for and during the rest reside and remainder of the said time of ninety nine years which is therein yet to come and unexpired, and in as full free siimple and beneficial a manner as he the said Richard Reeves might could or ought to have held and enjoyed the same by, any ways or means whatsoever he the said Benjamin Hide hereby covenanting and agreeing with the said Richard Reeves his executors and administrators to pay to Jno Moale his heirs and assigns the yearly rent of seventeen dollars p year (as in indenture of lease of Ground from the said John Moale to a certain John Cole as by reference to the sd aforesaid recorded among the records of Baltimore County Court in Liber WG No LL folio 490 & more fully and at large appear) to be paid by and on the part of the said Richard Reeves and to perform and keep all and singular the covenants and agreements in siad original Indneture of lease contained to be done and performed by and on the part of the said Richard Reeves his executors administrators and assigns In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and assifxed their seals the day and year first above written.

Baltimore County } On the ninth day of April 1796 before us the subscribers two Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid came the within named Richard Reeves and Benjamin Hide and severally acknowledged the within Indenture or Instrument of writing as and for their respective act and deed according to the intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided acknowledged before
