ROBERT BROOKE Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all To Whom these Presents shall come, Greeting: KNOW YE, that by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number ten thousand three hundred and ninety-one issued the twenty fifth day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty one there is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto George Reeves Assignee of James Howell a certain Tract or parcel of Land containing one hundred Acres by Survey bearing date the twenty eighth day of April one thousand seven hundred and ninety lying and being in the County of Montgomery, on the North side of New River adjoining George Reeves line on the West, and is bounded as followeth towit BEGINNING at two white oaks and Maple on the River bank it being said Reeves corner, North five degrees East eighty six poles to a hickory sapling and red oak, North twenty degrees, East forty poles to a red oak, on the side of a hill North fifteen degrees East sixty poles to a red (sic?) on the top of a ridge North seventy degrees West sixty poles crossing a branch to two white oaks North thirty five degrees West sixty poles crossing said Creek to a white oak South thirty five degrees West sixty poles to a white oak, South sixty degrees West one hundred poles to a red oak, and hickory sapling on the River Bank South fifty degrees East two hundred and forty two poles down the River to the first station With its Appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its Appurtenances to the said George Reeves and his Heirs forever IN WITNESS whereof the said Robert Brooke Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his Hand and caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be Affixed at Richmond on the thirtieth day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six and of the Commonwealth the twentieth.
