This Indenture made the eighteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine Between David Reeve of the precinct of Stoe Creek in the county of Cumberland and State of New Jersey and Ann his wife of the one part and Jonathan Hildreth Esqr of the precinct of lower alloways creek in the county of salem and state aforesaid of the other part - Witnesseth that the said David Reeve and Ann his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and forty five pounds of good and lawfull money of said state to them in hand by the said Jonathan Hildreth well and truly paid at or before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt of which is hereby owned and acknowledged by the said David Reeve and Ann his wife and themselves therewith to be fully satisfied contented and paid have granted bargained sold releasd and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Jonathan Hildreth his heirs and assigns a certain lot of land and marsh situate and being in the precinct of lower alloways creek aforesaid and is bounded as followeth Begining at a stake by the side of stoe creek at the Bridge and runs from thence along the road from greenwich to salem north forty two degrees west forty five rod and nine links to Hugh Dunhams corner thence by his land and said Reeves south sixty two and three quarter degrees west forty six rods to a stone for a corner then still by said Reeves land south eighteen degree east twenty five rods to a stake by side of said creek in the mouth of a small gut thence up said creek and bounding thereon the several courses thereof to the place begining containing sixteen acres of land and marsh with the allowance for roads be the same more or less which the said David Reeve became seized of by virtue of the last will and testament of his father David Reeve decd dated the — day of — Anno Dom — Reference to the said will will fully and largely appear. Together with all and singular the ways waters water courses woods rights members liberties priviledges hereditaments and appurtenances unto the said lot of land and marsh belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof & all the estate right property claim and demand whatsoever of the said David Reeve or his wife of in or to the same
To have and to hold the said sixteen acres of land and marsh with allowance for roads as above described with the hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Jonathan Hildreth his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Jonathan Hildreth his heirs and assigns forever and the said David Reeve and Ann his wife for themselves heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said Jonathan Hildreth his heirs and assigns in manner following that is to say that now at the time of sealing and delivery hereof they are the sole and lawfull owners of the above said land and marsh & stand lawfully seized of the same in their own right as of a good sure perfect and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple and have in themselves good right full power lawful and absolute authority to grant bargain sell and convey the same unto the said Jonathan Hildreth his heirs and assigns in manner as above and the same and every part thereof in the lawfull quiet and peaceable possession of the said Jonathan Hildreth his heirs and assigns against themselves the said David Reeve and his wife and their heirs and against all and all manner of persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim any estate right or title therein or thereto or to any part or parcel thereof they the same by these presents shall and will warrant and forever defend.

Salem Be it remembered that on the eighteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine before me Jonathan Waddington one of the Judges of the inferior court of common pleas in and for the county of Salme in the State of New Jersey personally appeared David Reeve and Ann Reeve his wife and acknowledged that they signed sealed and made as their act and deed in due form of law acknowledged the within instrument of conveyance for the uses and purposes therein mentioned the said Ann voluntarily thereto consenting the contents of the said instrument being made known to her on her examination apart from her said husband by me taken declaring that she executed the same instrument without any threat or compulsion whatsoever
