This Indenture made this Sixth day of March in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred between John Humphries Esq of the County of Wake and State of North Carolina of the one part and Samuel Reavis of the County and State aforesaid of the other part
Witnesseth that the said John Humphries for and in Consideration of the sum of one Hundred & fifty Silver dollars to him in hand, Paid before the sealing and delivering of these the receipt he doth acknowledge and himself fully Satisfied, hath Given Granted bargained Sold and confirmed and by these Presents doth absolutely Give Grant bargain Sell and confirm unto the sd Samuel Reavis his Heirs and assigns forever a certain Tract of Land that was Granted to By the state aforesaid to the sd John Humphries Situate Lying and being in the County aforesaid on the waters of Lick Creek Beginning at a post oak in Belvin’s Old line, on a Hill side being and old corner Turning thence south 309 poles to a pine on a path thence East 55 poles to a hickory in a line thence with said line North about 110 pole to a white Oak oak Thence East 50 pole to a Black jack thence North 150 poles to a small redbud on a Hill side near a Branch of Laurell Creek in the course of sd Belvin’s Old line, thence along the same to the Beginning Containing One Hundred & fifty acres be the same more or less, With all and Singular the rights Hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto Belonging or in any wise appurtaining To have and to hold the sd Bargained Premises to the only proper use and benefit of him the said Samuel Reavis his heirs & assigns forever and the said John Humphries his heirs Executors and admr Doth Covenant and agree that the sd Samuel Reavis his Heirs Exetr administrators and assigns may forever hereafter have hold use occupy Possess & Enjoy the said Bargained Premises without any Hindrance or Interruption whatsoever and the said John Humphries doth further agree that the said tract of land is free and discharged from all incumbrances and that he will warrant and forever defend the same against the Claim of all persons of all Persons Whatsoever, In Testimony Whereof he hath Hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal the day and Year first above Written
