This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of October One Thousand Eight Hundred between William Reves, Senr of the County of Wake and State of No Carolina of the one part and Nathaniel Jones Senr of the County & State aforesaid of the Other Part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the sum of One Thousand Seven Hundred & Eight Dollars to him in hand paid by the sd Nathaniel Jones Senr. before the Ensealing and Deliverying of these presents the receipt Whereof he doth acknowledge himself Satisfied Contented and paid hath Bargained Sold Enfeoffed Conveyed & confirmed unto the sd Natl. Jones Senr. his Heirs and assigns forever a certain Tract or Parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the County of Wake and on the south side of Neuce River bounded as follows the Beginning at a Large White Oak on the South Bank of the now running South 23½ West Twenty poles to a Hickory in John Alstons line thence with his line nearly a Southeast Course Forty four poles to a small post oak sd Alston Corner, thence with his line nearly South thirty five poles to a small sweet gum in the head of a Slash, thence with sd. Line down the Slash Sixty Six poles to a small Black gum near the Mouth of the Slash thence with sd line up a small drain (Called the gut) Ninety One poles to a small red oak a corner made by a Jury Thence south 33 west Sixty two poles to a pine in Major Holloways line thence with his line 540º E, Ninety two poles to a sweet Gum on the Bank of Ellobys Creek thence down the Various Courses of sd Creek to William Reves, Junr Corner Hickory on the south Bank of the creek thence No to the old line thence So 66½ E, to the old corner line on the south side of the creek thence No 23½ E, to the creek, thence down the Various Courses of the creek to the river thence up the Various Courses of the river, to the beginning containing four Hundred and Twenty Seven Acres more or less to have & to hold possess peaceably Enjoy the sd Land and premises with all appurtenances houses orchards & thereunto belonging from the right or Title of him the sd William Reves heirs and the sd William Reves for himself his Heirs & doth promise covenant and agree to & with the sd Nathl Jones his Heirs & the right of the said Land & Premises he and they will warrant and by these presents forever defend & maintain against all manner of Persons Whatsoever unto the sd Nathl Jones Senr his Heirs & forever in Witness Whereof the sd William Reves hath set his hand & affixed his Seal the day & year above written.
