Transcript

This Indenture made this fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two between Ro Rives and Peggy his wife of the County of Amherst of the one part and George Meng late of the County of Culpeper but now of the County of Amherst of the other part Witnesseth that the said Ro Rives and Peggy his wife in consideration of two thousand Dollars to them in hand paid by the said George Meng at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have bargained and sold and by these presents do and each of them doth bargain and sell unto the said George Meng his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Amherst adjoining the town of Waimr. containing two acres be the same more or less and bounded as followeth to wit. Begining at a stake corner of lott No 36 in the town of Warminster on the south side of the main street and running thence with the upper line of the said Lott South 23 1/2 west one hundred and five yards to a stake corner of said Lott thence new lines North 66 1/2 west ninety two yards toa stake, north 23 1/2 East one hundred and five yards to a stake and South 66 1/2 East 92 yards to the Beginning together with all the houses buildings orchards gardens, pastures previlidges, profits or emoluments whatsoever, to the said lands belonging.
To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all the tenements hereditaments with all and singular the premises before mentioned to and for the only proper use and behoof of him the said George Meng his heirs and assigns forever and promise and agree to warrant and forever defend the right title interest &c of the aforementioned tract or parcel of land to the said George Meng his heirs or assigns forever free from the claim of all persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Ro. Rives and Peggy his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the year and date first above written.
