TO ALL WHOM THESE PRESNTS SHALL COME, GREETINGS, KNOW YE, that we, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid unto our treasury by Stephen Reaves have Given and Granted, and by these Presents do Give and Grant unto the said Stephen Reaves a tract of land containing one hundred & fifty acres lying and being in our county of Wayne on both sides of Brooks Swamp Beginning at a pine the Beginning tract of a Patent Granted to Jesse Reaves and runs with the giving line of said Patent North Seventy one West three Hundred and twelve poles to a Stake the last corner of said Patent then with Slocumbs line South five East Sixty poles to a post oak his corner then with his other line South Eighty five West Ninety poles to a Persimmon tree then South Seventy Seven poles to a pine in a flax pond then with his own line to the Beginning. Entrance 21st February 1804, as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear; together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals, hereditaments and appurtenances, to the said land belonging or appertaining; TO HOLD to the said Stephen Reaves his heirs and assigns forever, Yielding and paying to Us such sums of money yearly or otherwise, as our General Assembly from time to time may direct. PROVIDED ALWAYS, That the said Stephen Reaves shall cause this Grant to be registered in the Registers offices of our said county of Wayne within twelve months from the date hereof, Otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect.
In Testimony Whereof, We have caused these our Letters, to be made Patent and our Great Seal to be here unto affixed, WITNESS James Turner Esquire, our Governor, Captain-General and Commander in Chief at Raleigh the 29th day of Nov'r in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four.
