Transcription

This Indenture made this second day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & Six Between Peter Casso of the one part & John Reeves of the other part Witnesseth that I Peter Casso for and in Consideration of the sum of Thirty pounds & five shillings to me in hand paid by the aforesaid John Reeves the receipt whereof I do acknowledge myself therewith fully satisfied have bargained Sold & delivered unto Said Reeves a Certain tract or parcel of Land situated lying & being in the County of Granville & Containing by Estimation forty Acres be the same more or less (Viz) Beginning at a Sweet Gum Richd Talleys Corner, west side Little Creek, thence by his line East 88 pole to a black (?) thence north 80 pole to a post oak in John Comer Peaks line thence by his Line East 66 pole to a pine on the bank of said Creek, thence down said Creek as it meanders to the first Station, the above bargained Land unto said Reeves his Heirs Exrs Admrs & Assigns I do for myself my Exrs Admrs & Assigns covenant to & with the said Reeves & agree that (sic) is free & Clear of & from all manner of Incumbrances & that we will warrant & defend the same forever against the right title claim or Interest of any person or persons whatsoever, Witness my Hand this day & date above written ~

Commentary

This appears to be the same tract that was sold to Casso by John Reeves' father, William Reves as executor of the estate of Woodson Daniel in 1800.
