1802 Will - Miriam Reeve

Transcript

In the Name of God Amen I Miriam Reeve of Bocking in the County of Essex Widow being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding thanks be to God for the same, Do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say,
First I give and Devise to William Reeve of Chelmsford in the County aforesaid Grocer Sarah Thorowgood of Bocking aforesaid widow and John Reeve of Brentwood in the said County of Essex malster and their heirs All that my Freehold messuage or tenement with the Houses outhouses Buildings Barns Stables yards Gardens and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate and being in Brentwood aforesaid and now in the tenure or occupation of the said John Reeve or his assigns and also all that my Malthouse yard and premises with the appurtenances in the tenure or occupation of the said John Reeve or his assigns situate and being in the Back Street in Brentwood aforesaid and all other my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever. To hold all the said premises with their appurtenances unto the said William Reeve Sarah Thorowgood and John Reeve their heirs and assigns for ever as tenants in common and not as joint tenants And as to all the rest and residue of my Goods chattels monies securities for money and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever (after payment of my just debts and funeral charges and the charges of proving this my will) I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto the said Sarah Thorowgood for her own proper use and I do hereby make and appoint Jonah Reeve of Bocking aforesaid Grocer and Joseph Reeve of the same place Grocer Joint executors of this my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said Miriam Reeve have to this my last Will and Testament set my Hand and seal this seventeenth Day of March in he year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and two.

Proved on the 9th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven before the Reverend Christopher Lawson Clerk surrogate &c by the oath of Joseph Reeve the surviving executor to whom Administration was granted he being first sworn duly to Administer.

This 9th day of November 1807
Joseph Reeve the only surviving executor within named was sworn to the truth of this will and to the due performance thereof and that to the best of his knowledge and belief the amount of the Goods chattles and credits of the deceased was under the sum of thirty pounds
before me Chrs Lawson Surrogate

Miriam Reeve the testatrix died at Braintree about the middle of June 1803
